Workplace Mentors Semester 1, 2024
Each semester, students in our Master of Pavement Technology program undertake their final capstone unit. They partner with an industry mentor to guide them through their final research project. This is an invaluable opportunity to work with an industry mentor on an industry project to further develop theoretical and practical skills that are directly relevant to the workplace.
Madeleine visit to DTMR with Sally Stannard
Madeleine travelled to Brisbane to meet with industry leaders. At a fantastic Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA) event, she had the opportunity to catch up with Sally Stannard, Director-General of the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Madeleine inspires Stantec team
During a recent presentation with Stantec team members, Madeleine inspired emerging leaders about the path forward (pic below).
“If you have the passion, smarts and drive to do something, your gender or background should not be a barrier to achievement” Madeleine said.
With a wealth of knowledge, life experience and remarkable tenacity and resilience, Madeleine shared and inspired the Stantec team, demonstrating that anything is possible.
Pavement Taskforce
Madeleine attended her first ever Pavement Taskforce Meeting with Austroads in Perth. Was fantastic to catch up in person with a CPEE Pioneer alum - Michael Moffatt (above) and also another CPEE Pioneer alum online - Andrew Papacostas.
CCF Infrastructure Luncheon update
Madeleine hosted a table today at the CCF Infrastructure Luncheon with Minister Danny Pearson, Tracey Slatter, and Jonathan Spear. An excellent series of presentations, covering discussions on project pipelines, diversity and inclusion, road safety, and decarbonisation
Kym Neaylon Austroads Award
Congratulations to Kym on receiving an Austroads Outstanding Award 2023 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Austroads and to the pavements industry over many years
Kym is a current academic/unit Chair at CPEE, past member of CPEE Learning and Teaching Curriculum Committee (LTCC), member of SPARC hub academic advisory, was awarded an Austroads Outstanding Service Award.
