David Hazell

David was announced by Roads Australia in Sydney recently as the winner of the 2020 Ray Fisher Award for Technical Excellence.
David is the current Unit Chair for the first core unit In the CPEE Master of Pavement Technology and Graduate Certificate in Pavement Technology programs, Fundamentals of Roads and Pavements. David is also a member of the CPEE Academic Board. From all of us here at CPEE we congratulate David on this achievement!

David has been an active proponent of research into the use of recycled materials in road construction throughout his 42-year career, encompassing both government and private sector roles. In pioneering innovative ways to construct and rehabilitate roads and design pavements, David's work reflects a holistic approach to sustainability in infrastructure and asset management.

Roads Australia extends its congratulations to David Hazell from Cardno, who was announced as the winner of the 2020 Ray Fisher Award for Technical Excellence in Sydney this afternoon.

The formal presentation had been delayed by COVID restrictions, but was finally able to take place at the conclusion of the 2021 RA Transport Oration, with former RA President and RA Life Member Ray Fisher congratulating David on his success in securing this prestigious industry honour.

David Hazell has been an active proponent of research into the use of recycled materials in road construction throughout his 42-year career, encompassing both government and private sector roles.
