Prof. Ron Ayers

Professor Ron Ayers is an Honorary Professor at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), having retired in 2013 as Professor of Civil Engineering after more than three decades at USQ. Ron commenced his engineering career with Department of Main Roads, NSW (now Roads and Maritime Services, NSW) and spent time in road and bridge construction and materials research.

He then worked at Campbelltown City Council in NSW as Construction Engineer before moving to USQ.

During his time at USQ he lectured in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in transport engineering, construction and engineering management. He has been active in research across a range of areas in the transport field. He also has had a long association with engineering education management at USQ, having held a number of position including Head of Civil Engineering and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Surveying.
