Honours for Key CPEE Personnel
A number of recent Awards to key CPEE personnel have recognised their outstanding contribution to education and capability development in the roads and pavements sector.
Last week at the CPEE Academic Board Meeting an Award was presented to recognise Excellence in Teaching Quality. In the June Queen’s Birthday Australian Honours Awards one of our long standing Unit Chairs was made a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia. Earlier in the year, at the 15th Conference of the Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia, Honorary Membership was bestowed on CPEE CEO.
Prof. Frank Bullen (Honorary Professor University of Southern Queensland, USQ): awarded CPEE Annual Excellence Award in Teaching Quality and Curriculum Development. This prestigious award recognises the highly positive Student Feedback throughout the year, together with his significant breadth of Unit involvement from the “Fundamentals of Road and Pavements” Unit to “Work Based/ Industry Research” units, as was his significant and willing assistance provided to other Unit Chairs during the year.

John Hodgkinson (AM) – Principal, Tasman Associates Pty Ltd : Was made a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia. “For significant service to engineering, particularly the road construction and concrete industries through new technology development”. A highly deserved recognition for his many years of dedication and advancement to the profession given, of which CPEE has been a significant beneficiary.
Ray Farrelly, CEO: Elected an Honorary Member of Road Engineering Association of Asia & Australasia. In recognition of a 35-year record of technical excellence in the development and provision of educational and skills training resources which have been original, unique and vital to the delivery of high quality road infrastructure at a national road network level.
