Road and Pavement Surfacings
This Unit explores the broad range of road and pavement surfacings employed to provide both functional characteristics and preserve structural capacity for a national road network. Students are able to develop their skills and knowledge in the investigation, treatment selection, design and performance of road and pavement surfacings across the spectrum of asphalts, spray seals, specialist propriety products and gravel. Students will be provided with the opportunity to hone their critical analysis abilities by undertaken whole of life analysis of alternate surfacing techniques, to provide best value to stakeholders. Communication skills will be enhanced through the preparation of professional level design reports.
